Neo Noir 90's

After reading "The Neo-Noir 90's" that I found on ebscohost, I understood that neo noir is not just a genre of cinema but it was a movement that was begun during the era of tranquility. Neo noir can be described as a tribute to the darkness that looms within society. I found it interesting that neo noir began during the time when there was "tranquil waters". After reading further, that curiosity of why is extinguished the reason is because during time of stress, "the depression is an example that is used" they would produce films that induced a feeling of escape or patriotism. I began this article with a vague understanding of the subject that is neo noir. Now I know that films that I enjoy like "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" and "Blade Runner". Considering that the movement is full of the consciousness of a segment of society. I am certain that immersing myself in this subject will also help me to understand the manner in which to better understand people. This is a very positive result because I am attending the college in order to receive a doctorate in abnormal psychology. In addition to being enlightened on what Noir is defined as, I discovered that this movement is still current in today's society. It appears that neo noirs has found a home inside many people who desire to take a peek into the abyss of fears, pain, corruption and destruction that the movie companies are portraying inside movie theaters. On a side note, it interested me to see what the fashion of neo noir is and I would like to say that it's not bad and I am considering trying some out. Not to say that I am becoming "doom and gloom “person as the article states.
